Saturday in the Park McLaren Free Concert Series Begins This Weekend, August 22
Free Saturday in the Park McLaren Acoustic Soul Concert on August 22
Rebel Soul Records presents, in conjunction with the Friends of the AMP Jerry Garcia
Amphitheater and Saturday in the Park McLaren, the first annual Acoustic Soul Festival
celebrating the brilliant Soul Culture of the Bay Area, featuring San Francisco 
native, Martin Luther McCoy with Faye Carol (Jazz vocalist extraordinaire), YouNique
Girl, The Three Bells and Viveca Hawkins.  Youth dance performers, poets and lots
of family fun will be on display at this year's kick off for Saturday in the Park
McLaren. Pre-show starts at noon with the live Acoustic Soul starting at 1 p.m.

Rec and Park GM Phil Ginsburg (right) greeted the Historic Vehicle Association (HVA)
to the Palace of Fine Arts on August 19 as the organization finished a 34-day, 3,500-mile
road trip from Detroit to San Francisco in a Ford Model T.  The trip, which included
stops in Indianapolis, Las Vegas and Albuquerque, mirrored the exact route Edsel
 Ford (son of Henry Ford) took in 1915 on his way to the fair.

Join recreation leaders as we team up with the Herons Head EcoCenter for Science
 Saturdays! We we'll walk along the San Francisco Waterfront and Bay Trail, bird
 watch and socialize. Then, the Eco Center Interns will entertain us with fun, free
and sustainable activities including solar cooking classes, vertical garden design,
and peddle-powered smoothies for all!
