Girls in Sports Extravaganza on January 31

Girls Extravaganza! January 31, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Kezar Pavilion. This clinic
is designed for girls, ages 5-17, to learn new skills in basketball, volleyball,
 golf, soccer, softball and tennis. Girls will be separated into age-appropriate
 groups and will rotate through each sport, learning basic skills and having fun
 while meeting coaches and making new friends. Cost is $10 per child. Register online

The Economic Benefits of SF Parks

San Francisco Philanthropist Helen Diller Passes

While we are saddened by the recent passing of San Francisco philanthropist Helen
Diller (above, with red scissors, in 2012), her legacy will live on through the 
laughter and fun times at the city playgrounds she so generously supported. In recent
years, Diller provided funding to support the renovations at Julius Khan Playground
in 2003, Helen Diller Playground in 2012, and Civic Center Plaza Playground (current).
We are thankful for her dedication and contributions toward making our playgrounds
safe and fun for children in neighborhoods throughout the city. Helen Diller will
be remembered with much love and respect from all of us at the San Francisco Recreation
and Park Department.
