     Dear Robin,

Thank you for your interest in our study at the UC Berkeley Language and
Cognitive Development Lab! We have an appointment scheduled for Kelly and
Frances from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, June 5, 2015.

For this study, we are interested in knowing whether children understand
the difference between moral norms (e.g., bothering someone else) and
conventional norms (e.g., rules in a game). Your children will help the
experimenters and a puppet solve certain tasks and after witnessing a
puppet break a rule, and your children will have a conversation with the
experimenter about what occurred. This study takes about 15 minutes per
child and is designed to be engaging for children between the ages of 3-
and 5-years-old.

One thing to know about this particular study is that it is necessary for
us to videotape this session to perform our data analysis afterward. We
would only study the video for research purposes.

Your trip to the lab would last about an hour and we would cover the cost
of parking. Your daughters would also each receive a small gift, such as a
stuffed animal or coloring book, as a token of our appreciation for you
coming into our lab.

Attached are the directions to our parking spot right outside the Language
and Cognitive Development Lab. Our parking spot is located outside Tolman
Hall, at the intersection of Hearst Av. and Arch St. in Berkeley. (*Please
note that this parking spot may be in a different location than the spot
you have used for other studies at the UC Berkeley Campus: The spot is on
the surface level in front of Tolman Hall, not in the parking garage).*On
the day of your appointment, we will be waiting outside for you with a
clipboard and wearing a name tag so that you can easily spot us.

Please contact us by phone (510-664-4494) or email if you have any
questions or concerns. The best time to reach us is between 9:00 AM and
5:00 PM, but you may leave a message at any time. We will call and/or email
you to confirm your appointment one business day before the appointment.

We look forward to seeing you, Kelly, and Frances on 6/5 at 10:00am!

Thanks,

Victoria Quinto
