Late Night Peace Hoops Championships at Kezar Pavilion on September 16
The City's Late Night Peace Hoops program will hold its championship games at Kezar
Pavilion on September 16, at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Late Night Peace Hoops is a collaboration
between SF Rec and Park, the SF Police Department, the Mayor's Office and the Street
Violence Intervention Program (SVIP), and is designed to give participants opportunities
for positive activities in their neighborhoods.  Prior to each game, players participate
in workshops ranging from interview skills, parenting classes, education and grief
counseling. Admission to the championship games is FREE.  Kezar Pavilion is located
at 755 Stanyan Street.

California Coastal Cleanup Day is September 19

SF Rec and Park is joining statewide efforts for California Coastal Cleanup Day

Plaque Unveiling to Honor Olympic Heroine Victoria Manalo Draves on October 10
Join the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), in partnership
with city agencies and organizations, for a special plaque  unveiling on October
 10, at 10 a.m., in honor of Olympic heroine Victoria  Manalo Draves.  Manalo Draves
was the first American woman to win two gold medals for diving. Born in the South
of Market area, Ms. Manalo Draves attended school on the same site that would become
the neighborhood park named in her honor in 2006.  The plaque ceremony on October
10 will be held at Victoria Manalo Draves Park, located at Folsom and Sixth Street.

Baseball Clinics for Girls Begin September 12
Girls baseball clinics for players ages 8-13 will be held at Palega Recreation Center
(500 Felton St.) on three upcoming Saturdays, September 12, October 17 and November
7, from 9-11 a.m.  Clinics are open to all girls and will include skill development

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's Free Shakespeare in the Park is coming 
to the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater at McLaren Park!
