The Wild Bunch: Succelents, Cacti & Fat Plants at the Conservatory of Flowers
This spring, the Conservatory of Flowers gets rough and tumble as it celebrates
some of the more ornery gangs of the plant world in a new exhibition. Set amongst
the rusty remnants of an old ghost town, The Wild Bunch, on view May 6 - October
 16, 2016, explores the strange and dramatic world of water hoarding plants, bristling
with living examples of cacti, fat plants (also known as caudiciforms) and other
 succulents. These fleshy, and often thorny, plants are distinguished for their
ability to survive the most extreme, arid conditions, and their swollen stems and
leaves come in a stunning variety of weird shapes and unexpected colors. conservatoryofflowers.org

SF Chronicle's Look Back at the 1973 Warriors' Visit to the Palace of Fine Arts
In honor of the Golden State Warriors' latest playoff run, the San Francisco Chronicle
[http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001MvrKAlUk3_7xHL1uLfhL1NoCmGr68ms9sWy9ggh4-7z8xUAioXX23aNpRECb9tnIAKjSLUQoQQnX2KuhForX6N7024BcoUpIuMUUplAm8YaKVsJcy1_UoJ1cMsq107JbVvAvCtqeFI5ngo5S-J4ghswYbjGbuPQxfVkJ2jb6kq6pasEuWyO54z147xqNABrnE1YOm3iwPhapfxxKYUzKnm5JqGem5RKDRsuJkmL1g96WP4vgDbziRloH0iJK0muSOe-VUJrvc4UlFbQ7l_CSzVvahXdInEz2jFv8RGjumJE=&c=MKWYST5nma3dawQDxPVtunPNBFkeXXz61IuvVLFdWBfhKFLruO8ycA==&ch=_pllZTbHuf2IKp-IEdcJJxl6hRC8z3XIBuRwdL_QP-9mjM5VDBRHxA==]
recently highlighted a cold day in September 1973, when the team visited the Palace
of Fine Arts for a photo shoot with photographer Bill Young. Donned in only their
jerseys and shorts, the team braved the elements for a unique photo session at one
of our favorite and most iconic park spots. And, here's a bonus Warriors-City connection:
small forward Joe Ellis (fourth from the left in the above photo) would go on to
 work for SF Rec and Park as a recreation director from 1992-2008.
