Sifaka Exhibit Now Open
Come meet your new favorite animals! SF Zoo has a brand new exhibit featuring Coquerel's sifaka (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=97e19fd545&e=7683a9aed3) and it's the largest in the country. If you like lemurs, you're going to love sifaka. Our two sifakas are very playful and they move with grace and ease while covering great distances between trees. The newly-constructed exhibit includes a baobab tree climbing structure along with other plants native to Madagascar.

Zoo Animals on the Silver Screen

What do parrots, porcupines and goats have in common with the upcoming release, The Wild Life? You can find the real ones at the Zoo and the animated characters come to life on the silver screen in the new movie hitting theaters September 9! Beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 27, Zoo guests have the opportunity to pick up exclusive movie swag and enter to win reserved seating at the movie screening, happening Saturday, September 3. Head to the Elinor Friend Playground early to score some swag while supplies last.

Labor Day is "Neighbor Day"

Introducing Our Newest Animal
SF Zoo welcomed an infant guanaco (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=53509345a6&e=7683a9aed3) into the family on Saturday, August 20. The "chulengo" or young guanaco took her first steps about one hour after she was born and is in excellent condition. Her mother "Milagro" and father "Cusco" are both first-time parents. Mom and infant are being given privacy to bond, but growth and status updates will be frequently posted. Our animal care team will determine the best time for the pair to rejoin the rest of the animals in Puente al Sur (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=0ba8bf1223&e=7683a9aed3) . Other recent Zoo births include a giraffe, anteater, howler monkey and patas monkey!
