TK stands for Transitional Kindergarten. TK is for those children who
turn 5 between 2 Sep and 2 Dec. Children who enter TK essentially do 2
years of kindergarten.

I think that they are ready for kindergarten in August, in most of the
24 aspects of readiness they look for. In addition, I've seen what
happens when they are the oldest in a class: they act superior and
entitled. Also, there are only 12 schools with TK, (the closest to us
is 2 bus rides away), so we may not get into the closest TK program.
