Grand Reopening of Nature Trail
June 4-5

Interact with animals along Nature Trail (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=387df1be38&e=7683a9aed3)  and celebrate 40 years of the groundbreaking educational program! This weekend is the grand reopening (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=c1c677b1d1&e=7683a9aed3) of Nature Trail, a summer exhibit that allows visitors to take a leisurely stroll to see more than a dozen animals up close! Learn fun facts and conservation stories about each animal from teen volunteers along the trail, open daily from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Blue at the Zoo
June 4

Come meet the men and women in blue - officers of the San Francisco Police Department at Blue at the Zoo (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=f69d7915ef&e=7683a9aed3) ! They'll be handing out police swag for the kiddos and showing off the latest high-tech vehicles used to solve crimes. Additionally, they're adding a temporary animal exhibit at the Zoo - mounted patrol horses! Officers will be stationed near the lawn at the Elinor Friend Playground from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 4.

NEW EXHIBIT OPENING SOON - Wolf Canyon

Mexican gray wolves are coming to SF Zoo! Soon, you'll be able to visit our three wolf brothers in their large, newly refurbished and technologically advanced habitat. Learn the wolf conservation story and how the Zoo is helping grow the population of this once critically endangered species.

World Oceans Day
June 11

Visit the only Zoo located along the sea for a special celebration of oceans and learn about marine wildlife from ocean experts and conservationists! Visit our own ocean animals, sea lions “Silent Knight” and “Henry” and hear how Zoo staff accommodates their special needs. Aquarium of the Bay and The Marine Mammal Center will also be on site with interactive activities to help us celebrate World Oceans Day (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=c084abdd5a&e=7683a9aed3) !
Helping Save Frog and Turtle Species

SF Zoo has been in the news (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=b0356fa13f&e=7683a9aed3) recently for its incredible work helping save red-legged frogs and Western pond turtles. On Wednesday, May 25 the "San Francisco Zoological Society - Yosemite National Park Conservation and Recovery Facility" was officially dedicated with help from many partner agencies. Hundreds of frogs and about a dozen turtles reared at SF Zoo are being released in Yosemite Valley, where they had been absent for decades due to non-native predators and disease.

Wellness 101 Camp
Our exciting, new Wellness 101 Camp (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=6c8e0ce235&e=7683a9aed3) for older campers will provide an overview of the mission and purpose of zoos and hands-on experience with animal care, wellness and enrichment. Participants will learn about conservation projects and receive an introduction to zoo careers.

Spend Father's Day morning on a leisurely, docent-led cycling tour through the Zoo on Sunday, June 19 from 8:30 to 11:00 am. Dads will enjoy beating the crowds and watching the animals start their day.
