I'm sorry to hear that RA's mom is going through this. Please pass on my
love to RA. As for attorneys, if it's likely to be litigious I would second
the recommendation for Kathryn Kirkland and Cheryl Sena, albeit based on
reputation alone -- I don't have personal experience with either of them.

I would also recommend Julia Ten Eyck (in SF) based both on my own brief
personal experience with her and on feedback from friends who I have
referred to her in the past.

Where does RA's mother live, RJ? if the divorce is likely to be
contentious, it's usually best to retain an attorney who regularly
practices in the county in which divorce is being sought. If RA's mom is
just seeking basic legal advice and info, though, an attorney who practices
in Mom's state should be sufficient.
