My twins slept in rock n plays nigth and day for the
first 3 months or so, then we transferred them to their
cribs in their bedroom. No issue at all.

Well, they slept at night in theirs cribs at 3 month
but still took naps in the living room in the rock and
plays for a while until they did not fit in any more.

At 8 weeks, all of our naps were in the rock n plays,
and around then my son stopped tolerating the swaddle
and ended up in the rock n play at night too. We had
read to wait until 3 months (adjusted, if that applies)
to do any sleep training, so we did and it worked great
then. At 3 months, we did Cry It Out Intervals (put
them down at first signs of sleepiness, let them cry
for 3 min, pick up & soothe, then let them cry for 6
min, pick up & soothe, etc) with the goal of having
them fall asleep in their crib for naps. There was one
awful day, one more day of working the program, and
then it's been pretty remarkably smooth since then
(knock on wood! 10 months old now). So my non-expert
advice is to go with what works right now, and start
moving towards more long term habits in another month
or so. If you've got a system that works at 8 weeks,
you're doing fantastic!
