Palega Recreation Center Receives LEED Gold Certification
This month, Palega Recreation Center, which reopened in 2013 after a $21 million
 renovation project under the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond, received
LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The Leadership in 
Energy and Environmental Design Gold designation is the organization's top standard
in its rating of a wide range of factors, including sustainability, water efficiency,
energy use, construction materials and innovation.

CityBeat Poll: Rec and Park Beats Golden State Warriors
The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce has released the results of its 2016 CityBeat

 polled gave our department services a favorable rating, a rating even our favorite

this season, a rare achievement in and of itself.

Greenagers Applications Available Now!
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department's Greenagers program offers teens
from the southeast side of San Francisco the chance to play an important role in
 the community by improving our city's green spaces and raising awareness about 
them. Greenagers work in various parks and open spaces throughout San Francisco,
 meet regularly with Rec and Park staff, community members and partners. Participants
will meet and work with teens their own age, collaborate with other youth organizations
and gain crucial skills in facilitating workshops, networking, public speaking, 
teamwork, environmental education, and community engagement.
