I've loved Allyson Labarbara at UCSF Laurel Heights.
She is currently on maternity leave for another couple
of months, but she was wonderful in the first 6 months
with my twin preemies. Parking has never been a
problem. They have a strict late policy, but that means
that I can be sure to get through the visit on time
without waiting. The medical assistant staff is
wonderful and has helped a lot post-shot when I was by
myself with soothing. I also know go myself for primary
 care with Mary Martin.

Unfortunately UCSF doesn't have any pediatricians at
their Mission Bay location (yet) they are all at Laurel
Heights. I've been meaning to check in with my OB in
Mission Bay to see if anything has changed. If you hear
any differently - let me know! Since UCSF at Mission
Bay want an option, We ended up going with a
pediatrician located in Potrero Hill who was
recommended by a colleague. We really like him and not
having to go far in the early days was huge.

sarah.b.latif is right -- all of the UCSF pediatricians
are at Mt. Zion. But there is a parking garage
immediately net to the office, just steps away, so Mt.
Zion might not be a bad option after all?We bring our
twins to that office and have seen a handful of
different doctors, all of whom were pretty great. We
primarily see Dr. Marina Tan and she's wonderful with
 our girls.

I had my girls at 31 weeks. I was so overwhelmed and
tired that I didn't think much about these things until
after the first follow up developmental clinic visit,
when I was referred to Early Start / GGRC for some
tight ankles on one twin. (I have an older kid who
walked late but is fine, so I was a bit more patient
than I might have been.) GGRC was really helpful about
advice, but also reassuring because everything had
improved on its own by then. I also learned to be
patient as each girl developed differently (one sat
first, but the other crawled first - one smiles first,
but the other signed first). Also I found it helpful
to aim for milestones based on due date (not by DOB)
during this first year. They are caught up now! Good
 luck!

Hi Lauren,I'm brand new to the group. And would be
very interested in the mentor program. I have a two
year daughter and now I"m expecting twin girls at the
beginning of June. I will be returning to work
(hopefully, just part-time). As I'm trying to prepare
for these twins when is it recommended to reach out to
the preemie closet? I'd like to have some things on
hand prior but of course don't want to take anything
away that people might need now. ThanksAudrey
