A Thanksgiving Message from SF Recreation and Parks
Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving and the holiday season offer us the chance to reflect on the past year
and remind us that we have plenty for which to be thankful.

I am thankful to all of you, who visit your parks, who care passionately about your
parks, and who continue to support your parks throughout the year.

I'm thankful for the men and women who I work alongside every day, who dedicate 
their time and energy to serving the community and making our parks and programs
 better.

I'm thankful for our volunteers, who give more than 180,000 hours of their time 
each year to beautify our parks and support public recreation.

I'm thankful for our park partners and San Francisco's elected leaders, who continue
to show that parks are a priority in this city and who continue to advocate on behalf
of parks.

Most of all, I'm thankful to live in a City that recognizes the strength in our 
diversity and that works to ensure everyone is welcome.

November's election only adds poignancy and purpose to our work.  Our parks and 
programs will be a beacon of peace and joy for San Franciscans, particularly our
 city's children and their families feeling suddenly scared and vulnerable.

This Thanksgiving, I wish you all the best.  May you get outside, play and connect
-- with nature and one another.
