Scaregrove, our annual family-friendly Halloween event at Sigmund Stern Grove, happens

SF Rec and Park Celebrates the 20th Annual Walk & Roll to School Day
On October 5, San Francisco Rec and Park General Manager Phil Ginsburg walked with
students from Parkside Square Playground in the Sunset District to Diane Feinstein
Elementary School, where Mayor Ed Lee, department heads and hundreds of students
 met to celebrate the 20th Annual Walk & Roll to School Day, which celebrates healthy,
fun ways for kids and families to get to school.

Sgt. Macaulay Park Planning Meeting on October 5
The renovation of Sergeant Macaulay Park is part of Let'sPlaySF, a partnership between
the Recreation and Park Department and the San Francisco Parks Alliance that seeks
to inspire creativity and play throughout the City. We will meet Wednesday, October

Red Umbrellas Art Shows at Alvord Lake Extended Through December
Red Umbrellas art shows at the east end of Golden Gate Park near Alvord Lake (Stanyan

The Wild Bunch: Succulents, Cacti and Fat Plants
At the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park through October 16th
This summer, the Conservatory of Flowers gets rough and tumble as it continues to
celebrate some of the more ornery gangs of the plant world in a new exhibition. 
Set amongst the rusty remnants of an old ghost town, The Wild Bunch, on view through
October 16, explores the strange and dramatic world of water hoarding plants, bristling
with living examples of cacti, fat plants (also known as caudiciforms) and other
 succulents. These fleshy, and often thorny, plants are distinguished for their 
ability to survive the most extreme, arid conditions, and their swollen stems and
leaves come in a stunning variety of weird shapes and unexpected colors. Click here

Victorian Alliance of San Francisco's 44th Annual House Tour on October 16th
Spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon on a self-guided walking tour of the Duboce Park
