Members' Morning
Saturday, October 8
SF Zoo Members and Guardians are invited to Members' Morning (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=28db7279a9&e=7683a9aed3) on Saturday, October 8. In addition to complimentary warm beverages and rides on the historic Dentzel Carousel, Members will have access to "Harvest Hallow" and San Francisco's largest hay maze before the Zoo opens to the public. Later that day, the Zoo welcomes the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Band (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=c20db54d3a&e=7683a9aed3) to perform a live concert at the Playfield beginning at 3:00 pm. Come early and stay late for another wonderful day at the Zoo!

ZOOtoberFest
Festivities Continue This Weekend
SF Zoo's new signature event "ZOOtoberFest (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=4c54c863c0&e=7683a9aed3) " was a big hit on opening weekend, and the fun continues this weekend with entertainment for all ages! Kids will love going on an adventure in "Harvest Hallow" where they can navigate through our giant hay maze with play areas along the way, jump in the bounce house, challenge their friends to a game of ring toss and use our festive setting for photo ops. Our "ZooBrewHaus" is perfect for adults, with a great selection of specialty brews served in a ZOOtoberFest mug that you can take home. Order from a German-inspired menu and enjoy energetic live music at The Depot Grill. You may even want to get up and dance!
Overnight Adventures
There are two wonderful opportunities to spend the night at SF Zoo in October! Girl Scouts can attend Animal Behavior WildNight (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=36e4de439f&e=7683a9aed3) on Saturday, October 15 to discover how animals use and conserve energy, and even record animal behavior data. The Spooky Sleepover Family Overnight (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=1de4f5989b&e=7683a9aed3) is full of thrills, chills, spells and smells! Treat your children (ages 6-17 accompanied by an adult) to a Halloween-themed overnight on Saturday, October 22. Family-friendly costumes are welcome, but masks are prohibited.

Celebrate Halloween at Boo at the Zoo
October 29-30
Make plans to join us for one of our most popular annual events, Boo at the Zoo (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=0a6065836b&e=7683a9aed3) ! The Halloween family festival includes trick-or-treat stations located throughout the Zoo and the Pumpkin Chomp & Stomp, an animal wellness and enrichment activity. Participate in the costume parade and contest, beginning at 11:00 am near the Lion Fountain. The haunted Nature Trail is back with kid-friendly thrills and the Insect Zoo is open for creepy, crawly critter adventures!

Conservation Lecture
Join us for a free and enlightening talk about giraffe conservation! Dr. Julian Fennessey, co-director of Giraffe Conservation Fund, will be presenting Saving Africa's giraffe - a tall story! (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=d385dfbaff&e=7683a9aed3)  on Friday, October 7 in the Osher Great Hall of the Lurie Education Center from 1:00-2:30 pm. Learn the silent story of the decline of the gentle giant and ways you can help conserve them.
Wild About Wolves
Journey, written by local author Emma Bland Smith, goes on sale October 11 and will be available at SF Zoo's main Gift Shop! The children's book follows the factual journey of a young gray wolf who became the first wild wolf to step paw in California in nearly a century! While she was here last month, the author signed five copies that can be yours - while supplies last! The Gift Shop is open during regular Zoo hours.

Winter Zoo Camp
It may be hard to believe, but the holidays and winter school breaks are right around the corner.
