[House] A Fun Study for Frances and Kelly at the Berkeley Early Learning Lab!

 Dear Robin,

This is Phyllis from the Berkeley Early Learning Lab. I am contacting you
because we have some games that  Frances and Kelly are the perfect age to
play, since they are 4. Would you and your children be interested in coming
to our lab to participate?


We are interested in how children search for information.  Frances and
Kelly  would play a game with one of our researchers. In this project we
present children with a set of cards, each representing an object, and they
have to find out what kind of objects, among those, are present on a
mysterious planet named Apres, by asking as few questions as possible. We
are interested in the types of questions children would ask and, in
particular, in whether and how children will exploit the organization of
the given objects in hierarchical categories (e.g., vegetable versus fruit,
blueberries versus apples). The results of this project will give us an
idea of how children develop their ability to efficiently learn from
knowledgeable others, such as parents and teachers.

We can provide you with free, reserved parking for your visit, and Frances
and Kelly  will receive a "UC Berkeley diploma" and a prize. The
appointment will last about 30 minutes. We have the following start times
open for appointments:


*Friday (9/16): *4:00pm
*Saturday (9/17): *10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm

*Friday (9/23): *4:00pm
*Saturday (9/24):* 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm

appointment will be booked once you have received a confirmation email with
directions to the lab. If none of these times will work, I would be happy
