 Playscapes examines the art, history, science, and importance of play, while telling
the story behind some of the most incredible play spaces in the world.
Featuring over 40 international playgrounds, drawings, sketches, videos, scale models,
and playable installations, the interactive exhibition examines the importance of
play and the latest thinking in playground design. From towering treetop playgrounds
to hand-knit crochet installations, visitors will discover how architects and designers
worldwide are engaging diverse communities to translate play objectives into state-of-the-art

Mobile Rec Community Day with Canoe Mobile on April 9
Join SF Rec and Park in celebrating our Mobile Rec Community Day, featuring Wilderness
Inquiry's Canoemobile at Lake Merced (1 Harding Road) on Sunday, April 9 from 10
 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a free event that is open to all. Come out that day and 
participate in a number of unique outdoor activities and enjoy scenic Lake Merced!
Also, on Saturday, April 15, join Wilderness Inquiry and Rec and Park for a morning
of canoeing at McNab Lake at Louis Sutter Playground (Wayland and University streets),

This year's Spring Eggstravaganza at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate park on April 
15 will feature egg hunts, carnival rides, games, live entertainment, food trucks
and the highly anticipated annual Rib Cook-Off between SF Rec and Park, SF Fire,
 SF Police and other city departments. Free bike valet provided by the SF Bike Coalition
at the west entrance of the event, off Bowling Green Drive near Martin Luther King
Drive.

McLaren Park Project Focus Area Workshops on April 8
Join us for a public workshop to plan trail and path improvements in McLaren Park

Coyotes in San Francisco: Informational Talk and Workshop on April 5 & 12
Join SF Animal Care & Control, Project Coyote and SF Rec and Park for an informational
talk and workshop on coyotes in San Francisco, Wednesday, April 5, 6:30 to 7:30 
p.m., at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park (Ninth Avenue and Lincoln

Junior Giants Registration on April 15
Junior Giants is a free, noncompetitive co-ed summer baseball program for boys and
girls, ages 5-18. Working together with SF Rec and Park and other youth-serving 
agencies, Junior Giants reaches into communities and offers youth the chance to

Greenagers Now Accepting Applications for 2017-2018
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the Port of San Francisco's
 Greenagers program, a youth leadership program offering teens a chance to play 
an important role in their community. Teens perform beautification work at parks
 throughout the city, participate in leadership workshops and choose projects based

This loop trail includes beautiful views of San Francisco's wetlands providing opportunities
to see bird species and native plants. Meet in front of the Lake Merced Boathouse

An Egg Hunter's Paradise! Free Egg Hunt on April 8

Vietnamese Refugee Resettlement Exhibit on April 9
This public cultural event will feature an exhibition and program to mark the 42nd
anniversary of the Vietnamese diaspora and refugee resettlement. The event will 
take place at Tenderloin Recreation Center (570 Ellis Street) on Sunday, April 9
 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This exhibition shares the refugee experience and celebrates
the achievements of the Vietnamese people worldwide through photography, first-person
narratives, and historical artifacts.
