SF Baysox 17U Team National Champions!
The San Francisco Baysox 17U all-girls baseball team won Baseball for All's third
annual National Championship in Rockford, Illinois this past Monday at Beyer Stadium,
home of the Rockford Peaches of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League
in the 1940s and -50s. The Bay Sox went 5-1, losing their first game before going
on a five-game run, which included a dramatic walk-off win in the semifinals. Their
hustle and grit fueled this title run and we are proud of all that you have done
 in breaking barriers and bringing yet another championship to San Francisco!

Stern Grove Festival on August 6
The 80th season of the the Stern Grove Festival is in full swing! The Festival features
free Sunday concerts throughout the summer. Every year since 1938, the Stern Grove
Festival Association, in partnership with SF Rec and Park, presents an admission-free
performing arts series in Sigmund Stern Grove's beautiful outdoor amphitheater setting.
Amadou & Mariam will be playing this Sunday and are a GRAMMY-nominated duo from 
Mali whose unique "Afro-blues" sound has landed them at Coachella and Glastonbury,
and opening for bands such as Coldplay and the Scissor Sisters.
Fronted by London-born Nigerian singer Eno Williams, Ibibio Sound Machine is a clash
of African and electronic elements inspired by the golden era of West African funk,
disco, modern post-punk, and electro.
