South Park Reopens on March 7
South Park, San Francisco's oldest park, reopens on Tuesday, March 7, from 12 noon
to 2 p.m., after a $3 million renovation funded primarily by the 2008 and 2012 Clean
& Safe Neighborhood parks bonds. Join Rec and Park, the South Park Improvement Association,
community members and elected officials for a special picnic event and ribbon cutting
ceremony. Grab a snack nearby and join us on March 7!

SF Deltas Opening Night on March 25 at Kezar Stadium
Drop by Kezar Stadium (670 Kezar Drive) on Saturday, March 25 at 7 p.m. to see San
Francisco's newest sports team. The SF Deltas are a professional soccer team in 
the North American Soccer League whose home field will be at the historic Kezar

Greenagers Now Accepting Applications for 2017-2018
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the Port of San Francisco's
 Greenagers program, a youth leadership program offering teens a chance to play 
an important role in their community. Teens perform beautification work at parks
 throughout the city, participate in leadership workshops and choose projects based

Introduction to Open Water Swimming Class this Spring
Announcing one of our newest classes for spring, Introduction to Open Water Swimming.
This	class	will	introduce	 swimmers	to	the	open	waters	 of	San	Francisco	Bay.	 Curriculum	includes	
introduction	to	equipment,	 safety	around	open	water,	tides	 of	San	Francisco	Bay,	
temperature	ranges	&	body	 reactions	to	those	temps,	 distance	swimming	training,	and

Butterflies & Blooms at the Conservatory of Flowers Now Open
Get eye to eye with a butterfly in the exhibit Butterflies & Blooms, coming to the
Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park this fall. The popular exhibit returns
by overwhelming demand to San Francisco's beloved Victorian greenhouse, transforming
its Special Exhibit gallery into a beautiful and intimate cottage garden aflutter
with hundreds of butterflies on the wing including magnificent monarchs, western
 swallowtails, painted ladies and more. Walk among a wide variety of brightly colored
blossoms like zinnias and daisies while free-flying butterflies flit from flower
 to flower, drinking nectar and getting covered in pollen.
The exhibit will be featured through June 30, 2017. And anyone can become a member
of the Butterfly Patrol for just a $20 donation to learn how to release a newly 
emerged butterfly into the exhibit. Patrol members receive complimentary people-sized
antennae and a special badge to take home.
