Mountain Lake Park Playground Reopening on June 8

Sneak Peek at Glen Park Recreation Center
Mayor Ed Lee, Senator Scott Wiener, Supervisor Jeff Sheehy, Rec and Park Commissioners
Allan Low and Kat Anderson, and members of the Glen Park neighborhood joined Rec
 and Park on Monday, June 5 for a sneak peek of the recently renovated Glen Park
 Recreation Center, which will open to the public in mid-July. Day campers were 
on hand to test out the facility's two new rock climbing walls, the first public
 climbing walls in the city. The $14 million renovation, funded by the 2012 Clean
and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond, includes upgrades to the facility's gym and auditorium,
new restrooms, and landscaping and building improvements.

Flower Piano Returns to the SF Botanical Garden this Summer
This summer, music, community, and nature join forces once again in the heart of
 the city during the twelve-day, outdoor extravaganza known as Flower Piano. Now
 in its third year, Flower Piano once again transforms San Francisco Botanical Garden
(SFBG) into the city's own alfresco concert hall, and everyone is invited to play
and listen. From July 13 - 24 only, visitors will find twelve pianos tucked among
the many flower-filled gardens within SFBG's 55 acres and are encouraged to play
 what they like, from chopsticks to Tchaikovsky. On weekend days, event partner 
Sunset Piano has invited professional pianists and a whole host of other musicians
to perform throughout the Garden as well, and the public is welcome to pack a picnic

America Scores Summer Day Camp at Civic Center
There are still spaces available for America SCORES' Summer Day Camp at Civic Center
Plaza (355 McAllister Street). The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6 to
 11 years old who are interested in exploring soccer and creative writing. America
SCORES specializes in youth development through soccer, poetry, and community building.
At camp, kids will explore authentic expression of body and mind through soccer 
games and activities, team challenges, word play and poetic exploration. There are

Koshland Park and Garden Workday on June 10
Join Community Grows this Saturday, June 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Koshland
Park & Garden (corner of Page & Buchanan Streets). The scope of work will include
weeding, planting, mulching, composting and cleaning the park. Wear layered, comfortable

This loop trail includes beautiful views of San Francisco's wetlands providing opportunities
to see bird species and native plants. Meet in front of the Lake Merced Boathouse
(1 Harding Park Road) at 10 a.m.The Boathouse is on the right before you enter the
gate to Harding Park golf course. For a more enjoyable walk remember to dress comfortably,
