Kezar Triangle Volunteer Day on May 6
This Saturday, May 6, work alongside RPD staff and longtime volunteer/SF historian
Greg Garr on beautifying the Kezar Triangle Area. Projects include and litter abatement
while learning about native flora and fauna! Volunteers meet at the side entrance
of the Golden Gate Park CommUNITY Garden (780 Frederick Street at Arguello Boulevard)
at 10 a.m. Tools and water and light snacks will be provided.

Huckleberry Youth Programs Celebrates 50 Years
Huckleberry Youth Programs celebrated its 50th anniversary this past Saturday, April
29, with a volunteer day of service in partnership with SF Rec and Park and SF Travel.
More than 85 volunteers participated in park beautification projects in Golden Gate
Park and the Panhandle, include weeding, mulching, pruning and litter removal--

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love in June
Journey into a forest full of faeries and lovers in We Players' adaptation of William
Shakespeare's all-time favorite, "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The six-person version
of this classic tale is a dark and hilarious exploration of the complexities of 
love, our complicated human relationships, and the boundaries between reality and
imagination.

Storywalks in the Golden Gate National Rec Area Starting June 1
Storywalks is coming to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area this summer from
June 1 to August 31! Pages from selected children's picture books are placed temporarily
along the edge of trails in these natural areas including Mountain Lake Park. Visitors
are not only invited to stop and read the story, but also take a closer look and
 listen to their surroundings in the park. An introductory panel will begin each
 story, describing the library partnership with the Park Service, as well as how
 to use the StoryWalk.

Health and Fitness Fair at Palega Recreation Center on May 6
Palega Rec Center (500 Felton Street) will be hosting its first fitness fair featuring
multiple fitness programs adults and youth can participate in. The fair will also
feature vendors who will be promoting health and wellness education. The event goes
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
