Celebrating Cinco de Mayo
Friday, May 5
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by visiting Wolf Canyon, home to three Mexican gray wolf brothers, Prince, Garcia and Bowie! Stop by Puente al Sur, featuring animals from Central and South America, like giant anteaters, black-necked swans, and our guanaco family. Don't miss a special Keeper Talk to learn more about Traci, the adorable juvenile guanaco born last August. And it wouldn't be Cinco de Mayo without traditional food and drinks. Feast on your favorites at the Leaping Lemur Cafe!

Pacific Islander Weekend
May 6-7
SF Zoo celebrates many cultures! Following Cinco de Mayo, experience the incredible sights and sounds of the Pacific during Pacific Islander Heritage Weekend (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=a481441324&e=7683a9aed3) on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 & 7.  Visit some of the flora and fauna you might see on the Pacific Islands, including sea lions, marsupials and a wide variety of birds and insects.  Enjoy traditional dance and music from 11:00-1:30 each day, performed by professional Bay Area artists.

San Francisco Zoo Members are invited into the Zoo one hour early for Members' Morning on Sunday, May 7 at 9:00 am. Otterly Fascinating River Otters
Saturday, May 6
Join us for an exciting conservation lecture about river otters, charismatic carnivores and wonderful ambassadors for river and wetland restoration! Robyn Aston of the River Otter Ecology Project will discuss what’s known about the species, what needs to be discovered, and just how we manage to research elusive, secretive mammals who slide into the water and disappear when approached. The FREE lecture is May 6 from 1:00-2:30 pm in Osher Great Hall of the Lurie Education Center. Mother's Day Special
The Zoo has so many mothers to celebrate this Mother’s Day, and we’re pleased to offer free admission to mothers who come to the Zoo with their children on Sunday, May 14. Be sure to bring your mom to see the wonderful animals who recently mothered infants by stopping by the following exhibits: flamingo, François’ langur, giant anteater, giraffe, guanaco, and wallaroo.
