Endangered Species Awareness Weekend
May 19-21

What do black rhinos, tigers, and lowland gorillas have in common? They’re all endangered species and animals you can find at SF Zoo! François' Langur Family Grows Again
We now have a second adorable François' langur infant in the PDC! Born on Friday, May 12, the male is the second François' langur born in the last three months. Newborns are reddish-orange, but their color changes quickly and reaches black by one year of age. In addition to the two new infants, SF Zoo has two male juveniles, two females and one mature male, making a family of seven. This endangered species is extremely active and acrobatic, and our family is no exception! Visit them at SF Zoo's Doelger Primate Discovery Center.

Tarantulas Special Exhibit
Opens Memorial Day Weekend
They’re big. They’re hairy. But are they scary? Find out why the largest spiders in the world are simply misunderstood gentle giants. You may even learn to love them! Wild Walks

Camp at the Zoo
Jump start your summer with a camping trip at the Zoo on June 17-18! This adventurous Family Overnight (ages 6+) includes setting up camp in the Zoo, staff-guided morning and evening Zoo walks, tasty snacks, and sharing stories by the fire. San Francisco Zoological Society congratulates Dr. David Jones, the 2017 recipient of the Hal Markowitz Award, named for a former SF Zoo employee known as the "father of animal enrichment". Dr. Jones is the founder of Wild Welfare (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=6048861701&e=7683a9aed3) , an organization he founded to help zoos worldwide improve animal care standards. Thank you for five decades (and counting) of putting animals first!
