Tarantulas Special Exhibit
Opens This Weekend
They’re big. They’re hairy. But are they scary? Find out why the largest spiders in the world are simply misunderstood gentle giants. You may even learn to love them! Memorial Day at SF Zoo
May 27-29

Come for the animals and stay for the music! During Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29, guests will be treated to live musical performances by "Brass Animals" on Saturday and "Steel Jam" on Sunday and Monday in The Depot, located near Puente al Sur. The bands will be playing sets from 12:00-3:00 pm each day. Grab a bite to eat, relax in the seating area and enjoy the ambiance as you kickoff your summer. SF Zoo appreciates and pays tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Retired and active military personnel receive SF resident admission rates.

Senior Stroll
Thursday, June 8
Seniors, ages 65 and older, are welcome to attend SF Zoo's quarterly Senior Stroll, Thursday, June 8 from 9:00-11:00 am. Enjoy a guided walking tour and watch the animals that are active early in the day, especially in the Family Farm. Bring your best questions for a knowledgeable docent, who can provide answers as well as fascinating insights into animal behavior. Meet François’ Langur "Kerr"
SF Zoo's most recent addition, an adorable, orange-headed François’ langur named "Kerr", is now two weeks old. Born on May 12, he's the second François’ langur born in just three months. "Kerr" is named after the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr.  This species is extremely active and acrobatic, and we can only hope Coach Kerr is back on his feet in no time. Stop by the Doelger Primate Discovery Center to check out these endangered animals soon!

Early Childhood Classes
Do your little ones hoot like howler monkeys or hop like frogs? Jump into an early childhood class filled with songs, crafts and animal facts. Designed for children 18-months through four years old, registration is open for classes through July 1. Spend your Sunday morning on a leisurely hour-and-a half-long, docent-led cycling tour through the Zoo, and finish up with relaxing and delicious continental breakfast.
