Mountain Lake Park Playground Reopening on June 8
Join us for the reopening of Mountain Lake Park on Thursday, June 8 from 5 to 7 
p.m. This $3 million dollar project was funded by the 2012 Clean & Safe Neighborhood

Storywalks in the Golden Gate National Rec Area Starting June 1
Storywalks is coming to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area this summer from
June 1 to August 31! Pages from selected children's picture books are placed temporarily
along the edge of trails in these natural areas including Mountain Lake Park.
Visitors are not only invited to stop and read the story, but also take a closer
 look and listen to their surroundings in the park. An introductory panel will begin
each story, describing the library partnership with the Park Service, as well as
 how to use the StoryWalk.

America Scores Summer Day Camp at Civic Center
There are still spaces available for America SCORES' Summer Day Camp at Civic Center
Plaza (355 McAllister Street). The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6 to
 11 years old who are interested in exploring soccer and creative writing. America
SCORES specializes in youth development through soccer, poetry, and community building.
At camp, kids will explore authentic expression of body and mind through soccer 
games and activities, team challenges, word play and poetic exploration. There are

Start at the Stow Lake Boathouse (50 Stow Lake Drive) in Golden Gate Park at 10 
a.m. for some light stretching followed by an easy-going walk around one of the

"Grillin In The Mo" is in its seventh year and takes place at Hamilton Recreation

Mad Funny No Money Comedy Show on June 4
As part of the Comedy Central's Colossal Clusterfest comedy and music festival in
Civic Center Plaza, we will be hosting a free youth oriented comedy show at the 
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (99 Grove Street) on Sunday, June 4 at 11:30 a.m. The
show will feature Theme Park Improv and some of the talented poets from the America
Scores poetry slam program. The show is appropriate for all ages. Doors open at
