The Commons Block Party on September 21

San Francisco Chinatown to Gain New Park Space
We announced this week that a newly constructed park space in Chinatown is now scheduled
to open in early October. The 6,000 square-foot Rooftop Park, which is connected
 to St. Mary's Square, contains planted areas, seating and an open plaza. It was
 built as a condition of approval from the San Francisco Planning Department for
 the development of 500 Pine Street and 350 Bush Street. Accessible to the public
through St. Mary's Square, the new plaza is located at Quincy Street between California
and Pine Streets. Coastal Clean Up Day Leaves SF Waterways Pristine
Thank you to everyone who volunteered for Coastal Cleanup Day this past weekened.
It was an absolutely amazing turnout citywide, including more than 500 people who
volunteered at our 12 eastside San Francisco sites! It is estimated that these volunteers

V-O-Cal Trail Building and Camping Trip at McLaren Park September 22 to 24

building project and camping overnight at McLaren Park, the second largest park

The 7th Annual Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival on September 30

Art Workshops for Infants & Toddlers at Randall Museum in October
Drop into the Randall Museum at Mission Art Center (745 Treat Avenue) for an innovative
art class for infants and toddlers ages 1 year and two months to 5 years old. Kids
and caregivers will combine art making with children's songs and nursery rhymes.
 Together they can use toys and everyday art tools to make this art class extra 
fun. Paint with sponges, miniature cars, rollers, fingers and more. As with every
art class, dress for a mess!
Infants and toddlers must be accompanied by a participating adult with a cost of
 $10 per parent-child combo. Drop-in between 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays and
1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays in October.

Saturday in the Park: San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival on October 15
On Sunday, October 15 check out the San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival.
The event will showcase several local troubadours at a non-stop afternoon of new
