Spring Fling Zumba Dance Party on April 8

Moscone Playground Reopening Celebration on April 14
Moscone Playground is now open!To commemorate this milestone, join us for a community
fun day on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Celebrate the recent improvements,
which include new playground equipment, a new dog play area, a mini bicycle pump
 track and resurfaced tennis courts! The project is funded by the City's parks bond,
general fund monies secured by former District 2 Supervisor and current Mayor Mark
Farrell, as well as generous donations from Linda and Tom Coates and San Franciscans
for Sports and Recreation. Golden Gate Park Turns 148 Years Old!
We'd like to wish a very happy 148th Birthday to our beloved Golden Gate Park! As

Koret Playground Reopens
Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate the reopening of Koret Playground this
past Saturday, March 31! It was great to see everyone climbing, sliding and playing
at this iconic site again, which was vandalized by fire last summer. Thank you to
the San Francisco Parks Alliance, Koret Foundation, San Franciscans for Sports and
Recreation, Stepping Stones Preschool, the late Mayor Ed Lee, and everyone who supported
this project, including Mayor Mark Farrell and Supervisor London Breed.  Special
 thanks to the men and women of SF Fire Station 12, who responded to the fire last
year. Springing into April with Eggstravaganza
Our annual Eggstravaganza event at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park on 
March 31 was a huge hit as we kicked off spring with egg hunts, live entertainment,
carnival rides and games. Congratulations to our rib cook-off winners, including
 the San Francisco Fire Department for winning the People's Choice Award, and to
 our very own team from Mission Recreation Center, who won the VIP Judges' Award!
A hearty shout-out goes to the more than 150 volunteers who helped make Eggstravaganza
a success and who gave 520 total volunteer hours of service to support our amazing
recreational staff!  Thank you all for helping to bring fun and activities to San
Francisco!

Earth Month with the National Recreation and Park Association!
This April, San Francisco is a part of the Meet Me at the Park Earth Month Campaign,
a collaboration between the National Recreation and Park Association and The Walt
Disney Company, including Disney|ABC Television Group and ESPN, to help fund local
park improvement projects in 16 U.S. cities across the country. The campaign includes
three potential projects in San Francisco - one of which will receive a $20,000 
grant for park improvements. They are our Greenagers at Bayview Hill Park, All-Star
Summer at Youngblood Coleman Playground and the Tennis and Learning Center. You 
can help decide which park or program receives the funding by voting for it every
day in April! Greenagers Now Hiring for the Class of 2019
The Greenager Program is an outdoor youth leadership program created and designed
to offer early high school teens a chance to play an important role in the community

Information & Resource Conference for Families of Children with Disabilities on

Stow Lake Boathouse (50 Stow Lake Drive) in Golden Gate Park

Garden Resource Day at Alemany Farm on April 28
Join us for our first Garden Resource Day of the year at Alemany Farm (700 Alemany
Boulevard) on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to our compost and mulch,

Kids Games at Kezar Stadium on May 6
Stretch those legs out and join us for the 3rd Annual Kids' Games at Kezar Stadium,
a FREE Olympic-style track meet for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 years old. The event
will take place on Sunday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature the 50 meter
dash, 100 meter dash, and the Long Jump. Lunch will be served for all participants
with food trucks will be on site for everyone else. Trainers and coaches will be
 working with the runners and t-shirts will be provided. The deadline to register
