SNOW LEOPARD CUBDATE!
Our male and female snow leopard cubs are doing great and love playing with each other in their new home. They are out in their outside habitat where they can be seen by visitors from 10:00-11:30 am, and then they have access from 12:00-4:00 pm. Be sure to check our website (sfzoo.org (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=156f683152&e=7683a9aed3) ) or follow us on Twitter (@SFZoo (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=e568fe121c&e=7683a9aed3) ) for the very latest updates!

GARDENS GALORE!
With the late summer “sun” - flowers are just beginning to bloom at SF Zoo and Gardens! Sunflowers and dahlias are just a couple of the beautiful flowers you will find on Zoo grounds. Our horticulturists chose certain seeds, not only for their beauty but also for their function. Why? Well, because, for example, those TALL sunflowers are used as enrichment for the Zoo’s birds and primates. Other flowers found in Gail’s Fragrance Garden (named after SFZS Emeritus Board member and SFZS Docent Gail Secchia) are chosen to attract migratory pollinators!

GET INVOLVED TOMORROW!
Saturday, August 25th, 10:00 am
San Francisco Zoo, Lurie Education Center, Osher Great Hall
Do you know a budding conservationist between the ages of 11 and 14? Come to our orientation to learn how to join our Zoo Crew! Crew members work hands-on with rangers, biologists, and horticulturists at Lake Merced, Mountain Lake, and the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens to restore local habitat, learn about our very own wild places and wild things, and get dirty! The orientation is free to attend and does not require admission or RSVP. Please note that we encourage prospective volunteers and a parent/guardian to attend together, and that parking is not included. Questions? Email youth at sfzoo.org (mailto:youth at sfzoo.org?subject=Zoo%20Crew%20Orientation%20) .

CONSERVATION WITHIN SF ZOO!
As we learn more about the impact of plastic bottles in our oceans, SFZS is taking a leading role with its vendors to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles sold at SF Zoo. More recently, we invested in new water refilling station! You'll find these stations located at two locations - the southwest corner exterior of the Lion House and the entrance to the African Savanna. We'll be adding more throughout SF Zoo with our ultimate goal of six stations. We hope not only to eliminate the sale of single-use, plastic water bottles at the Zoo but also gently educate our visitors and make a habit of “refill” as common as wearing seatbelts!
