Geneva Community Garden Opening on February 24
Plant yourselves over at Geneva and Delano Avenues THIS Saturday, February 24 for
the grand opening celebration of the Geneva Community Garden! The opening of San
 Francisco's newest community garden goes from 10 a.m. to noon and will feature

San Francisco Youth Baseball League Opening Day on February 24
Join us THIS Saturday, February 24 to throw out the first pitch on the 2018 baseball
season! We will be celebrating opening day for the SF Youth Baseball League on that
day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kimbell Fields (Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street).
Activities will include speed pitch, home run derby and an all teams parade, as

Coyote Mating Season Begins
We're entering coyote mating season, when we normally see an increase in sightings
and encounters due to mated pairs of coyotes protecting their dens, territory, food
sources, and newborn pups. We work with Animal Care & Control San Francisco on signage
and barriers to decrease the chance of encounters between dog walkers and coyotes.
You can report any coyote sightings in our urban parks to 311. For emergencies or
life-threatening situations, call 911.

Red Umbrellas at Alvord Lake on February 22, 24 and 25
The Red Umbrellas Open Air Art Exhibition returns to Alvord Lake this week beginning
tomorrow, February 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The installation will be on display 
this weekend as well and will feature musical acts from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Blues 
and Jazz Vocalist/Guitarist Todd Thölke will be bringing his west coast soul style

1st Annual Adult Kenneth Pratt Memorial Table Tennis Tournament on March 3
Join us for a special Memorial Table Tennis Tournament in Honor of Kenneth "Coach
Ken" Pratt. Coach Ken loved participating in the city employees table tennis tournaments
and was a dedicated volunteer for RPD's athletic programs helping young boys and
 girls learn the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance. This free tournament
will be double elimination, with each match being best 2-out-of-3 sets. There is
 a mandatory rating assessment on February 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Palega Recreation

Tinkering for Tots Classes Now Open!
Tinkering for Tots Class & The Tinkering & Making Lab are now open! In these FREE
classes, tots will unleash their curiousity as they TINKER with everyday materials,
explore how things work and are put back together. Students will be inspired to 
use their imaginations and problem solve in our STEM Tinkering and Making Labs. 
Classes are on Wednesdays from 1/10 to 3/7 at Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center
(650 Capitol Avenue) and Thursday from 1/11 to 3/8 at Tenderloin Recreation Center
