Helen Diller Civic Center Playgrounds Opening on February 14
&#x2665; your parks? Cupid is coming to Civic Center! Everyone is invited to celebrate
the opening of these new creative play spaces, courtesy of the Helen Diller Family

Peace Parks Collaboration at Potrero Hill Recreation Center
This past Friday, January 19, Rec and Park joined then-Acting Mayor and Board of
 Supervisors President London Breed, Supervisor Malia Cohen, and Police Chief Bill
Scott to kick off Peace Parks, a community wellness and violence prevention program
for youth sponsored by the SF Police Department, the SF Department of Public Health
and SF Rec and Park. The program supports underserved communities by offering safe
spaces for healthy recreation while providing opportunities for residents to build
relationships with local law enforcement members. Peace Parks is offered at Herz
 Playground in Visitacion Valley, Youngblood Coleman Clubhouse and Playground in

Francisco Park Design Update Open House on February 10
We are co-hosting with the Francisco Park Conservancy a design update open house
 to share the latest designs of the new Francisco Park. Please join us for this 
community gathering on Saturday, February 10 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Moscone Recreation

three major park elements: the children's playground, community garden and dog play

Swim Coaches Needed for the SF Merionettes
The SF Merionettes Synchronized Swim Club is seeking part-time coaches to support
our novice, intermediate and age group teams. The team has expanded over the last
few years now has over 40 swimmers! There is an experienced coaching staff in place
that take a collaborative approach to coaching with multiple coaches per team, allowing

Tinkering for Tots Classes Now Open!
Tinkering for Tots Class & The Tinkering & Making Lab are now open! In these FREE
classes, tots will unleash their curiousity as they TINKER with everyday materials,
explore how things work and are put back together. Students will be inspired to 
use their imaginations and problem solve in our STEM Tinkering and Making Labs. 
Classes are on Wednesdays from 1/10 to 3/7 at Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center
(650 Capitol Avenue) and Thursday from 1/11 to 3/8 at Tenderloin Recreation Center

San Francisco Youth Baseball League Opening Day on February 24
Join us on Saturday, February 24 to throw out the first pitch on the 2018 baseball
season! We will be celebrating opening day for the SF Youth Baseball League on that
day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kimbell Fields (Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street).
Activities will include speed pitch, home run derby and an all teams parade, as
