WHO WILL THEY CHOOSE?
JOIN US SATURDAY!

Tomorrow we will be celebrating World Chimpanzee Day and a special event to learn which team - France or Croatia - our chimpanzees predict to win the World Cup. Festivities begin at 11:15 am when our chimpanzees will be given two boxes containing treats and enrichment; the box that is opened first will determine their choice. Immediately following will be a talk about chimpanzees that will be enjoyable for family and friends alike!

MARCH OF THE PENGUINS
SATURDAY, JULY 28

One of our most popular annual events, March of the Penguins, returns Saturday, July 28! Come to watch our three adorable Magellanic penguin chicks waddle through the Zoo to their new home on Penguin Island. This morning event celebrates the chicks' graduation from “Fish School” where they lose their fluffy down, learn to eat whole fish, swim and accept food from their human keepers. Members can come into the Zoo early at 9:30 am to get a perfect seat and have the opportunity to submit a name suggestion in a raffle for one of the chicks! JULY SUMMER SAVINGS!

Some say that a penny saved is a penny earned. In early August, our admission prices will be increasing. This is a result of rising costs associated with goods and services plus a recent substantial increase in the expense of our healthcare costs. We'll be increasing admission between $2-3 per level; this applies to San Francisco residents and non-residents as well. Even after our admission price change, our prices will still remain lower than many other cultural attractions.

The great news is that this increase won't occur until August - so you can save by visiting today! SNOW LEOPARD CUB UPDATE

At 2 weeks, "Dawa" allowed our team to perform the first veterinary exam of our new cubs! This included weighing, sexing and examining their overall health. We are delighted to share that we have one male and one female snow leopard cub! On your next visit, you may notice “Dawa” is choosing to spend more time outside; this allows our team the opportunity to do some housekeeping of the night quarters and work with the cubs to monitor their development very closely. At a month, the cubs are almost 5 lbs. and learning how to walk and play in the den box. We'll be certain to let you know when the cubs are ready to make their public debut!
SWEDISH FISH AT SF ZOO!

Swedish Fish is the official candy of Shark Week. Be sure to tune in to Discovery Channel starting Sunday, 7/22 at 8 PM.
