Garden Resource Day on June 9 and Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop on June 10
Get your garden ready and join us for FREE community garden workshops in June, including
our second Garden Resource Day of the year at the Golden Gate Park CommUNITY Garden
(780 Frederick Street) from 10 a.m. to 1 pm THIS Saturday, June 9! In addition to
compost and mulch, we will also have veggie plants to give away, as well as a station
to clean and repair your small garden tools.
The following day, join us for our our Summer Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop at the
 Clipper Terrace Community Garden (855 Clipper Terrace) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon 
on Sunday, June 10! Come learn about keeping your fruit trees in top form for the

Stern Grove Festival Returns June 17 with the Big Picnic!
Free concerts in Stern Grove are back this June! Celebrate Father's Day on Sunday,
June 17 at 2 p.m. in the Grove (19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard) for the Big Picnic
featuring two R&B greats, Peabo Bryson and Jeffrey Osborne. The concert is FREE

Proposition 68 Passes in California's Special Election
Proposition 68 was approved with 56 percent of the vote to authorize the state to
borrow $4.1 billion for investments in outdoor recreation, land conservation and
 water projects, according to the latest results on the morning of Wednesday, June
5. The measure will set aside $200 million for restoring and improving water quality
in San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, along with other
