A New Face in the Australian WalkAbout!
If you look closely, you might see a new face in the walkabout exhibit – a wallaroo joey! Wallaroo (and kangaroo) joeys are born about the size of a jellybean, and must find their own way to mom’s pouch after birth. Once in the pouch, they will attach to a teat, and then remain in the pouch for about 5 months, before starting to peek out and see the world for the first time. They first leave the pouch at around 6 – 7 months. The common wallaroo has shorter limbs than other kangaroo species, which is thought to be an adaptation for leaping around on rocks. Stop by and a get a glimpse of this adorable addition!

Big Bunny's Spring Fling
We are gearing up for our annual Easter tradition, Big Bunny’s Spring Fling (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=642ca31161&e=7683a9aed3) !
March 31, San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is the place to be for a hoppin’ good time! We’ve partnered with 106 KMEL’s Sana G Morning Show for the third year in a row to host four egg hunts with thousands of candy-filled eggs! Registration is now full for the egg hunts, but but there will be a limited number of spots available for in-person registration! Music, activities, Easter bunny sightings and so much more are just around the corner at Big Bunny’s Spring Fling!

Teen Science Conference
Saturday, April 7
All Bay Area high school students are invited to the Bay Area Teen Science (B.A.T.S.) Teen Career Conference on Saturday, April 7. The FREE and exclusive teen-only workshop is the perfect opportunity to meet and discuss interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, and STEM industry and education professionals. Spring Bird Walks

Calling all bird enthusiasts! Our spring bird watching walks are back! Bring your binoculars and join us for an adventurous morning walk, led by Allan Ridley, on Thursday, March 29 from 8:30-10:00 am. Please meet at the Zoo's main entrance. There is no charge for the walk and parking is free in the parking lot until 10:30 am. No reservations necessary. Simply show up and enjoy!

Jungle Jog
Gather your pack or pride to walk/run the Jungle Jog on May 6. Take a walk on the wild side at this family-friendly event and enjoy a 5K course that takes you through the "jungle" which is home to over 2,000 endangered and rescued animals.  Race entry fees (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=b727c4203a&e=7683a9aed3) include admission to the Zoo so you are free to enjoy and explore for the rest of the day at your leisure.
