San Francisco Botanical Garden's 51st Annual Spring Plant Sale on May 5

80th Anniversary Celebration of the Angler's Lodge and Casting Pools on May 12
Join the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club and Rec and Park for a celebration
 marking the 80th anniversary of the historic Angler's Lodge and Casting Pools (1232
John F. Kennedy Drive) in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, May 12. A project of the
 Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1938, the ponds are free and open to anyone
with an interest in fly fishing, from beginners to seasoned experts. The day will
start with free casting lessons from 9:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a ceremony and

Twin Peaks Open House on May 8
Join us for an open house on the proposed designs for the eastern half of the Twin
Peaks Boulevard "Figure 8" on May 8. The purpose is to review and discuss a proposed
design for converting the closed roadway into more of a promenade focused on the

Public Art Project at the Geneva Car Barn and Powerhouse!
We want to hear what you think! We are working with the San Francisco Arts Commission
and want your feedback to commission public artwork(s) for the Geneva Powerhouse,
which is currently being renovated! The goal of the public art project is to create
a signature piece of art for the redesigned Powerhouse that will inspire and engage
arts programming participants and the community in general, enhancing their connection
to the historic building. Three artists were chosen as finalists by a Public Art
 Selection Panel to create site-specific proposals for the Geneva Public Art opportunity.

Panhandle Playground Closed until May 5
The Panhandle Playground will be temporarily closed for two to three days beginning
today, Wednesday, May 2 to complete standard testing to help confirm renovation 
design parameters. It will reopen by Saturday, May 5 for you to get out and play

We Players Presents "Roman Women" at the Palace of Fine Arts on May 4
We Players theatre group presents "Roman Women" at the Palace of Fine Arts (3301

Young People's Teen Musical Theater Company Presents Snoopy the Musical on May 4
Join Young People's Teen Musical Theater Company (YPTMTC) for their presentation
 of Snoopy the Musical. The sequel to You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, is based
 on the beloved Peanuts comic book strip. YPTMTC is made up entirely of teens, and
with three months of rehearsals under their belt for this production, they are ready
to provide a professional theater performance! The shows will take place at the 
Randall Museum (199 Museum Way) on the weekends of April 27 to 29 and May 4 to 6,

Observe the magnificent Great Blue Herons and their chicks during their nesting 
season at Stow Lake on Saturdays in May and June, including this Saturday, May 5!
