Celebrate “Cinco de Rhino” at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens this weekend.  Join us for two special rhino talks - Indian rhinoceros at 11:30 am and black rhinoceros at 3:00 pm.  In addition to the talks, we’ll have face-painters for the kids and margaritas for adults. A portion of every margarita sale will be donated to the International Rhino Foundation - our conservation partner in the wild.

Penguin Breeding 2018

The San Francisco Zoo & Gardens maintains the largest and most successful breeding colony of Magellanic penguins in captivity, having fledged approximately 205 chicks since 1985!  We are excited to say that we have penguin eggs and hope you enjoy watching the most recent candling of the eggs. Candling is the process of shining a bright light through an egg to monitor its development. Check back with us in the coming weeks as we share more penguin news!

JUNGLE JOG: THIS SUNDAY!!!

There is still time to register! Gather your pack or pride to walk/run the Jungle Jog (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=967695fad5&e=7683a9aed3) on May 6. Take a walk on the wild side at this family-friendly event and enjoy a 5K course that takes you through the "jungle" which is home to over 2,000 endangered and rescued animals.  Race entry fees include admission to the Zoo so you are free to enjoy and explore for the rest of the day at your leisure!

MOTHER'S DAY BIKEABOUT!
The mom in your life will love this special Mother’s Day outing on Sunday, May 13! Spend your morning on a leisurely hour-and-a half-long, docent-led cycling tour through the Zoo, and finish up with relaxing continental breakfast. Bring the whole family along for the fun! Mom will enjoy being in the Zoo ahead of the crowds and watching the animals start their day.
