Safeway Holiday Ice Rink at Union Square Returns on November 7

San Francisco Preschool Fair on November 7

Lawn Bowling Club in Golden Gate Park Reopens!
This past week, we reopened greens 2 and 3 at the Lawn Bowling Club in Golden Gate

GGP Dog Training Area Community Meeting
Please join us for the third community workshop for the Golden Gate Park (GGP) Dog
Training Area TOMORROW,  November 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will be held on

SFYBL Registration Begins on November 17
San Francisco Youth Baseball League (SFYBL) individual registration begins on Saturday,
November 17 at 10 a.m. The league, a collaboration between Rec and Park and the 
San Francisco Fire Department's Flame Program, serves boys and girls ages 4 to 14
in six age-based divisions with the season beginning in March of 2019. Fees cover
coaches, games, practices and uniforms. Contemporary Exhibit at Harvey Milk Photo Center
The Contemporary Exhibit is coming to the Harvey Milk Photo Center (50 Scott Street)
beginning TONIGHT, November 7 with an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. The exhibit
is a collection of contemporary art that comes from local artists in a variety of
mediums including photography, oil painting, watercolor and drawing. The FREE exhibit

Trail Walk at Lake Merced on November 10

Red Umbrellas at Alvord Lake on November 10
The Red Umbrellas Open Air Art Exhibition returns to Alvord Lake (Haight and Stanyan
streets) on Saturday, November 10 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The exhibit will also

Exploratorium at Alvord Lake on November 11
As part of the Stanyan Street Edge renovation, Rec and Park is partnering with the
Exploratorium on a 2-year temporary project located at the eastern entrance of Golden
Gate Park along Stanyan Street. The Exploratorium is looking for feedback on four
early exhibit ideas that will be on display on Sunday, November 11 from noon to 
3 p.m. Swing by, learn a little about natural San Francisco and tell us what you

Tasters Choice Hoops Summit on November 17
Calling all lady ballers ages 5 to 13! Join us for the annual Tasters Choice - Girls
in Sports Hoops Summit! The event will take place on Saturday, November 17 from 
noon to 5 p.m. at Hamilton Recreation Center (1900 Geary Boulevard). The summit 
will help participants develop fundamental basketball skills, learn healthy athlete

upon Golden Gate Park's Chain of Lakes, chomping its way through the marshy waters
and spitting out any invasive weed that dare stand in its path. The Aquamog, an 
aquatic vehicle that looks like the unlikely offspring of a small paddleboat and
 a backhoe, will dine on submerged and floating invasive plants for approximately
