Joining Peppermint and Belle this year is a six-month-old male calf to help spread holiday cheer at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens! The reindeer are now on exhibit every day, and will also be featured on ZooLights (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=0bc134f754&e=7683a9aed3) evenings starting December 14th.

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND FUN!
SF Zoo is open for holiday fun!

Get some exercise in before you shimmy up to the table! San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is open every day of the year at 10:00 am to spend a few hours or a full day. Don't miss the chance to see our adorable snow leopard cubs, see the thrilling 10:30 am Grizzly Bear Feeding, and take a ride (or two) on the Little Puffer miniature steam train! Get outside with your family this weekend and enjoy everything your Zoo offers.  We are open on Thanksgiving Day and every day.

GREAT APE PASSAGE
Come see chimps explore newest habitat expansion

Visitors can preview the new Great Ape Passage habitat expansion during Thanksgiving week, with daily viewing opportunities occurring in the near future. The new indoor space features high ceilings, climbing structures, large window views and a giant skylights.  The chimps can access the day room via an exciting 70-foot-long, 14-foot-high, mesh-covered, elevated crossover passageway.

Join us in welcoming Rachel Mazur, Ph.D., Chief of Wildlife, Yosemite National Park, as she presents, “Tales from Over 100 Years of Human-Bear Management at Yosemite National Park." The story of Yosemite's human-bear management program is the story of conservation success. It started over 150 years ago and gradually got worse until, in 1998, Yosemite's bears participated in over 1500 incidents with humans. This year, in 2018, bears participated in fewer than 20 incidents with humans. Come learn the stories behind the trial and error, research, inventions, and pure grit that made this success possible.
