Happy #GivingZOODay (#GivingTuesday)! As a non-profit, the San Francisco Zoological Society is grateful to the generous support of its members and donors.  On this global day of giving, we invite you to support your favorite Zoo program.   A donation to our Education department ensures that San Francisco schools can continue to send their student field trips to the Zoo for free.   And that our ZooMobile can bring our ambassador animals to low-income schools, senior centers, veterans’ centers, and juvenile hall to provide onsite education and conservation teaching.   A donation to our newly expanded Great Ape Passage provides ongoing state-of-the-art geriatric care to our beloved aging chimps Cobby, Minnie, and Maggie.  And we are also pleased to announce an incredible new project that will transform and revitalize the center of the Zoo while educating our visitors about the major conservation threats facing the world's "Islands in Crisis.” We recently broke ground on the
exciting new Lipman Family Madagascar Center, one of the most significant exhibit expansions in recent years. This transformative, integrated habitat will be devoted to the unique flora and fauna of Madagascar, one of the world’s most critical biodiversity hotspots.  Together, we will increase awareness of the fragility of the future of Madagascar’s wildlife, while celebrating its rich diversity of species. Your Giving Tuesday donation will support the Zoo's acquisition of fascinating fossa, leaping lemurs, tremendous tortoises, and many other new animals which will call the Zoo their new home.
