Winter Park Opens November 30 at Civic Center Plaza!
A brand new winter-themed park and ice skating rink is coming to Civic Center Plaza!
The kick off event for Winter Park begins at 11 a.m. this Friday, November 30. The
park will feature an ice rink and 400-foot skating track that will weave ice skating
fun through a lighted tree forest. In addition, the installation will be implementing
a program benefiting the Tenderloin District's public schools to ensure every child
skates this holiday season. Each of the 3,000 students attending public school (K-12)
in the district are invited to experience the Winter Park for free! For more information,

Holiday Tree Lighting at McLaren Lodge on December 6
Join us for the 89th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at McLaren Lodge (501 Stanyan 
Street) in Golden Gate Park on Thursday, December 6, from 4-8 p.m. This FREE family-friendly
event will feature toboggan rides, snow play area, carnival rides, live entertainment,
cookie decorating, visits with Santa and more! There will also be free admission
 to the Conservatory of Flowers, which will feature a holiday light show!
In addition, because it's the season of giving, the San Francisco Police Department
is hosting a toy drive at the event. All are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped

Shoreview Park Receives Urban Greening Grant!
Mayor London Breed announced this past week that a plan to renovate Shoreview Park
received a $625,108 state grant for environmentally friendly projects! The renovation
will include a new children's play area, picnic/BBQ grill area, outdoor fitness

Golden Gate Heights Playground Meeting
Join us for the first planning workshop to guide future improvements at Golden Gate
Heights Playground. This project is a part of the Let'sPlaySF! initiative. The meeting

Exploratorium at Alvord Lake on December 2
As part of the Stanyan Street Edge renovation, Rec and Park is partnering with the
Exploratorium on a 2-year temporary project located at the eastern entrance of Golden
Gate Park along Stanyan Street. The Exploratorium is looking for feedback on four
early exhibit ideas that will be on display on Sunday, December 2 from noon to 3
 p.m. Swing by, learn a little about natural San Francisco and tell us what you

San Francisco City Cats at Kezar Pavillion
Join the San Francisco City Cats of the American Basketball Association (ABA) as
