EXTENDED HOURS TO CELEBRATE THE FINAL
TWO WEEKENDS OF ZOOTOBERFEST!

Enjoy extended hours until 7 p.m. to enjoy ZOOtoberfest during the last two weekends in October!  Get the most out of San Francisco’s warm Fall weather to stay later at the Zoo to see animals that are normally more active during dusk, like big cats, wolves, and lemurs. Please note that some animal areas, including the Children’s Zoo, will close at their regularly scheduled times.

For kids AND adults, SF Zoo’s “Zoo Brew Haus” at The Depot Grill is pouring a great selection of brews, and cooking a full smorgasbord of German-inspired dishes, like beer-braised bratwurst with Guinness mustard and sauerkraut! During lunch, dine to the upbeat sounds of a live band playing traditional European polka music.

POUNCE OVER TO SF ZOO TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL SNOW LEOPARD DAY!

You can help save snow leopards! We’re celebrating International Snow Leopard Day on Sunday, October 21 (actual day, Oct. 23) with a special Keeper Talk at 12 pm and you’re invited! Learn about this Vulnerable species from our knowledgeable staff, watch our two cubs play with mom, and learn how you can make an impact on snow leopard conservation. Supporting the Zoo, conservation groups like the Snow Leopard Conservancy and spreading the word on snow leopard conservation are great ways for you to make a difference!

INTERNATIONAL SLOTH DAY - OCTOBER 20
Slow down this weekend and celebrate International Sloth Day on October 20! The sloth spends most of its time hanging upside down by its four-inch long, curved claws. Because they spend most of their time hanging in trees, their fur grows in the opposite direction of other mammals and has special grooves in it which hosts algae. This algae serves as camouflage, but come visit the Zoo and see if you can spot our two sloths in the Lion House and Tropical Rainforest and Aviary!

BOO AT THE ZOO - OCTOBER 27-28!
Our thrillingly popular event, Boo at the Zoo, only happens once a year and you don't want to miss it! The family-friendly Halloween event includes trick-or-treat stations throughout the Zoo, face-painters, and arts & crafts.  Enjoy the Pumpkin Stomp & Chomp and an Insect Zoo full of creepy, crawly critter adventures!
