Scaregrove on October 26
Scaregrove returns to Stern Grove (19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard), THIS Friday,
October 26 from 3 to 9 p.m. This year's event will feature a costume contest and

Bi-Rite Cafe Opens!
The Bi-Rite Cafe at Civic Center Plaza is officially open! The cafe, which opened
Tuesday, October 23, is the latest attraction transforming the area into a destination
for neighborhood families, visitors from across the City and tourists alike. It 
is steps from two state-of-the-art playgrounds opened earlier this year and a cornerstone
of a major effort to enliven the public spaces linking Market Street and City Hall
with outdoor art, free performances, and regular family friendly events. Thank you

SF Bay Sox All-Girls Baseball Team on ESPN!
Today, ESPN featured an article that highlighted Baseball for All's all-girl national
baseball championship tournament that occurred this past summer. We hosted the tournament
in 2016 and have sent our all-girls baseball team, the SF Bay Sox to the tournament
each year. This program has grown to become the largest all-girls baseball program
in the nation! Garfield Pool Closure and Expanded Pool Hours
This past Monday, October 22, Garfield Pool closed to prepare for its renovation.
During the closure, staff and resources from Garfield Pool will be reallocated to
other city pools. We have expanded lap swimming hours at Coffman, North Beach, Sava
and Hamilton pools. In addition to these changes, we will also have no annual maintenance
closures at any pools while Balboa and Garfield are both under renovation. For more

SFYBL Mandatory Coaches Meeting on November 1
Interested in starting a youth baseball team? San Francisco Youth Baseball League
(SFYBL) registration begins on Saturday, November 17 at 10 a.m. In preparation for
registration, there will be a mandatory coaches meeting on Thursday, November 1 
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the County Fair Building (1199 9th Avenue). To register
 a team, a coach or manager must be in attendance on behalf of their team at this

Halloween Events in our Parks!
In addition to Scaregrove, we have numerous other Halloween events this October 
in our parks and recreation centers including a family Halloween day at the recently
renovated Randall Museum (199 Museum Way) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, 
October 27! The whole museum will be filled with spooky delights for the Halloween
season. Costumed revelers will find unexpected surprises in the new areas of the
 museum while enjoying familiar favorites like creepy crafts, ghoulish games, trick-or-treating,

Movie Night at Little Hollywood Park on October 26

San Francisco Preschool Fair on November 7
Join the Office of Early Care and Education for its second annual preschool fair

city departments and organizations to show of their vehicles that keep San Francisco
running! More than 400 kids explored their favorite trucks and listened to them
