San Francisco Zoo & Gardens' annual gala (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=f4795596d7&e=7683a9aed3) will take place on Friday, April 12. We are thrilled to honor longtime Zoo supporters Edward Oates and Jennifer Hammer, and celebrate a “100th milestone” — Executive Director Tanya Peterson’s 10th anniversary and the Zoo’s 90th year of continuous operation! Dine and dance under the stars at the Zoo, with catering by McCall’s and entertainment by Pure Ecstasy, and support a great cause while doing so.

All of the proceeds from ZooFest go towards underwriting the Zoological Society's animal care general operating costs and our youth education and outreach programs. National Volunteer Week Begins April 7!

April 7 marks the beginning of National Volunteer Week and we want to give HUGE thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers for their extraordinary service! From our docents to our teens and every volunteer in between, we appreciate your service and dedication! Pictured here are members of the Children’s Zoo Sunday volunteer crew. Our Sunday group is made up of teen and adult volunteers some of which have been with us for a few months to almost 5 years all working together rain or shine.  They all enjoy giving treat balls and attention to the donkeys!

New Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Secret Safari

We’ve introduced a super exclusive, private experience called “Secret Safari.” Secret Safari is a special fee-based 45-minute guided tour of behind-the-scenes animal habitats conducted by a Zoo Interpretive Ambassador. Each tour features up to six different animal species, some of which may not have been previously viewable here. Spring Registration Now Open for Early Childhood Programs!

Registration for the Spring session of Little Learners and Animal Adventures is now open! You and your little one will both enjoy soaring like eagles, digging like meerkats, and grazing like goats in these early childhood classes.
