Cool Off and Sip on Mimosas at SF Zoo!

The heat is on everywhere, and the coolest place to cool off the rest of the summer is SF Zoo! As summer comes to a close, visit SF Zoo to cool off and meet various animals up-close. On Saturday and Sunday, August 24 & 25, we are excited to introduce "Mimosa Mornings." There will be a bar set up in front on Lemur Cafe and you can enjoy the sights and sounds of SF Zoo while sipping on a mimosa (or two) with live Flamenco music to set a great tone for the day!

Join us on Labor Day Weekend as we celebrate our Asian wildlife at the Komodo Festival. You will learn about issues that affect endangered species of Asia like orangutans and red pandas, and actions you can take to help save them.
Over the three-day weekend, we are proud to host a sushi-making tutorial in front of Lemur Café from 11 am – 1 pm with our brand new sous chef, Chef Frank! Four types of sushi (vegetarian and vegan included) will be available for purchase along with sake, lychee martinis, and more! Plus, enjoy live cultural entertainment daily from 11 to 2 p.m.
Conservation News: 1,000th Frog Released in Yosemite!

SF Zoo’s conservation team has been working hard to raise nearly extinct California red-legged frogs as a part of a collaborative effort with Yosemite National Park to reintroduce the species to areas from which they disappeared 50 years ago. Earlier this week, we released the 1,000th red-legged frog reared here at the Zoo to Yosemite! Thanks to those we work hand-in-hand with, including the National Park Service, Yosemite Conservancy, and federal and state agencies, to ensure the environmental health of one of our great natural treasures and the resurgence of a threatened species. You can see some of our very own red-legged frogs in the California Conservation Corridor.

It’s never too early to expose your little one to the wonders of wildlife! Pack up the stroller and put on your walking shoes for this guided stroll through the Zoo. We will tour exhibits, meet an animal visitor, and do simple child-caregiver paired activities to build developmental skills. Spend koala-ty time with your baby, get some exercise, and meet other Zoo families while introducing your cub to the joys of learning.
