Sushi Making Tutorial at the Komodo Festival!

Join us for a festive Labor Day Weekend as we celebrate our Asian wildlife at the Komodo Festival. You will learn about issues that affect endangered species of Asia like orangutans and red pandas, and actions you can take to help save them.

Over the three-day weekend, we are proud to host a sushi-making tutorial in front of Lemur Café from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with our brand new sous chef, Chef Frank! Four types of sushi (vegetarian and vegan included) will be available for purchase along with sake, lychee martinis, and more! Plus, enjoy live cultural entertainment daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Don't let summer end before going on an adventure at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens! Enjoy the brand new Great Ape Passage, the nearly two dozen daily Animal Talks, and rides like Little Puffer Train and Dentzel Carousel. August 31- September 2 is also the final weekend to take a walk along Nature Trail and catch Wildlife Theatre shows at 1:30.

Grab your “bear-y” best friends and meet us at SF Zoo for an early morning BikeAbout on September 21 at 8:30 am. You’ll have the opportunity to pedal around the Zoo with knowledgeable guides who will teach you fun animal facts and share ideas about how you can help animals in the wild. Wander the Zoo on foot after the tour; admission is included! Pre-registration required, bikes not provided by the SF Zoo. It’s never too early to expose your little one to the wonders of wildlife! Pack up the stroller and put on your walking shoes for this guided stroll through the Zoo. We will tour exhibits, meet an animal visitor, and do simple child-caregiver paired activities to build developmental skills. Spend koala-ty time with your baby, get some exercise, and meet other Zoo families while introducing your cub to the joys of learning.
