Camp Mather Lottery Registration Open Through January 13
Registration for the Camp Mather lottery is currently open and runs through THIS
 SUNDAY, January 13. This early registration will help us to share results by early
March! Please note the rules and reservation process have been changed and updated

In addition, registration for the Senior Mather Get-Away for the summer of 2019 
will take place this coming March with the Get-Away slated for the week of August
18, 2019. If you had a reservation in 2018, but could not attend due to the Ferguson
fire, you will be contacted this  February/March regarding priority registration.

I Left My Park in San Francisco Podcast Episode: Ladies' Night

 we hit the boxing ring for Ladies' Night. For nearly a decade, a committed group
of women have been boxing on Tuesday nights at the Mission Rec Center. The class
 is an alternative to the coed group, where women create their own, machismo-free
space to train and learn technique. The program's shining star emeritus is Raquel
"Pretty Beast" Miller, who was first a student, then an instructor at Mission Rec.
Now one of the top boxers in the country, Raquel Miller is currently training to
 compete for a World Title. The City and County of San Francisco's 10-Year Capital Plan
We're kicking off the new year by preparing for our future.  A recently-released
 draft update of the City's 10-year capital plan proposes a $255 million parks bond
in 2020 and another $200 million parks bond in 2028. The City's Capital Planning
 Committee will now gather feedback from stakeholders before submitting to the Board
of Supervisors and Mayor for approval. We will share with you opportunities to provide
insight and comment as we go through this process. We look forward to hearing your
input as we plan for the future of our parks!

Kezar Drive Lane Closure on January 10
The three day closure of one traffic lane on Kezar Drive has changed to only a single
day closure now set for tomorrow, January 10 when one westbound traffic lane and
 pedestrian sidewalk will be closed. They will reopen on Friday, January 11. Please
note that there may be increased traffic through this area for that date. Stay tuned

Margaret Hayward Tennis Court Closure
Beginning on Monday, January 14, the Margaret Hayward Playground tennis courts will
be closed for the rest of the month of January as we begin demolition work at the
site. The tennis courts will be closed due to the impact of the demolition work.
  Nearby tennis courts include Hayes Valley (Buchanan & Hayes Street), Hamilton 
(Geary Boulevard & Steiner Street), and Alamo Square (Steiner & Hayes Street). For

Alamo Square Dog Play Area Partial Closure
Earlier this week, a portion of the Alamo Square Dog Play Area (DPA) began its annual
winter closure. During this time, that portion of the park will be aerated and reseeded
before being left to rest. We expect the closure last from six to eight weeks. Once
complete, we will have fresh turf for your pooches to get out and play on! Check
 back in February for an update and reopening date!

Job Fairs in January!

organizations, will host a series of three Saturday job fairs this month from 10

Magnolia Bloom at the SF Botanical Garden
Beginning on Tuesday, January 15, the San Francisco Botanical Garden will have its
annual magnolia bloom! The Garden's current collection includes 54 species and 49
cultivars, including many important specimens from Asia. The main flowering time
 is mid-January through March with the peak bloom expected in mid-February! For
