Red, White, and Zoo: Celebrating 90 Years!

Celebrate Red, White, and Zoo with us from July 4-7! Come to listen to live music in The Depot where you can enjoy an outdoor BBQ with your family and friends and stay to enjoy a dance or two. The Fourth of July weekend also kicks off 90Fest (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=63af4f84f3&e=7683a9aed3) , a special month-long celebration in honor of the Zoo's 90th Anniversary. Every weekend in July, learn about our history on a self-guided tour or with a visit to a special historical display in the Pachyderm Building.  Come take a walk down memory lane and make new memories of your own!

*On Friday, July 5, the Zoo is open for extended hours until 7 p.m. Meet Q102 DJ Billy Vidal from 5-7 p.m. mixing music and hosting games for prizes!

Rainforest Zipline

What could be more fun than to be 30-feet high, zipping through the Zoo?! Take a trip on our zip line, feel the wind on your face and glide past Little Puffer running on its track, and glance at the sea lion habitat along the way! The Rainforest Zipline is here for a limited time during July. Nominal fee required.

Miniature Horse Demonstrations

Behavioral observation, training, and enrichment are integral to the well-being and management of the animals in our care. Keepers create opportunities for the animals to interact with their surroundings as they would in the wild, while also getting them involved and active in their own care. We are excited to offer our guests the opportunity to see our miniature horse training demonstration beginning  July 6 every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at 1 pm near the Chacoan peccary habitat.

* Wildlife Theatre Shows Return! Enjoy a variety of ambassador animals from the Koret Animal Resource Center that will engage and educate you and your family about animal adaptations and conservation. Shows Thursday-Sunday at 1:30 pm.
* Nature Trail Now Open! Stroll along Nature Trail and interact with more than a dozen animals up close! Youth volunteers staff each animal station to deliver fun facts and conservation stories.11:00 am - 3:30 pm daily.
* Talk on the Wild Side Returns! Learn from teen volunteers as they utilize biofacts carts at animal exhibits daily around the Zoo.
* Life on the Farm.  Don’t miss the special Life on the Farm talk in front of the Insect Zoo Thursday-Monday at 3:15! You have the chance to meet our farm animals like kune-kune pig, miniature horses and more.
