April Showers bring May flowers! This May, see San Francisco Zoo & Gardens in a whole new way! As we continue to celebrate SF Zoo’s 90th Anniversary, we are opening our gates an hour early on weekends in May, so you have more time to explore the Zoo’s gardens, which are as exotic as its animals! We’re even offering a free guided garden tour on weekend mornings with paid admission or valid SF Zoo membership to help you explore!  But space is limited! SF Zoo & Gardens is fortunate to be home to so many amazing animal mothers, including reticulated giraffes Barbro and Ingrid; African lioness Sukari;  snow leopard Dawa; plus the many flamingo and penguin moms we have.  All of these animals are currently available on SF Zoo’s website’s Adopt-an-Animal page (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=1f604d9685&e=7683a9aed3) , and we hope you’ll consider supporting SF Zoo with a mom (or baby) adoption, as you celebrate Mother’s Day! Calling all Mama Bears! Celebrate Mother's Day with your little cubs at this special event (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=aa2f6021e5&e=7683a9aed3) Little Learners class. We'll learn about some of the top moms of the animal kingdom including elephants, apes, and koalas. Raise a toast to mom with a glass of sparkling cider and other enrichment treats just for you - you deserve it!

*Mama figures of ALL kind (grandmas, aunts, nannies, etc.) are welcome!

Conservation News: Saving Frogs in Yosemite!

SF Zoo’s Conservation team has been working hard to raise nearly extinct California red-legged frogs as a part of a collaborative effort with Yosemite National Park to reintroduce the species to areas from which they disappeared 50 years ago. We are proud to work hand-in-hand with the National Park Service, Yosemite Conservancy, and federal and state agencies to ensure the environmental health of one of our great natural treasures and the resurgence of a threatened species!
