San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is a great place to connect with animals, and one of the best ways is by feeding our giraffes! Join us every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the perfect “selfie” at the Coulter Giraffe Plaza from 11 am - 1 pm to feed our herd for $5 per individual.*

*Due to the outdoor nature of our African Savannah, we accept only cash for these feedings.  Also, wind, diets and other variables may impact feeding hours. Enjoy!

Meet Bao Bao!

Drumroll…and the winning name chosen for our male Francois langur from more than 1,500 submissions is Bao Bao! Thanks to everyone who voted! Langurs are highly endangered with only around 2,000 remaining in the wild in China and Vietnam. Langurs live in highly cohesive social groups most of which consist of one male, several females and their offspring. Females form the core of the group, and the babies are born with a natal coat of a reddish-orange color. Parenting duties are shared amongst females in the Langur group (“aunting”). Come to see if you can spot this cutie this weekend!

Santa is sending his favorite reindeer, to spread holiday cheer at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens! Beginning November 23, majestic reindeer will be romping at SF Zoo's Playfield Lawn, near the spectacular Elinor Friend Playground. Celebrate the holiday season by visiting the animals that help Santa with all his special deliveries!

The Fall II session of  Little Learners and Animal Adventures classes starts next week and registration is now open! You and your little one will both enjoy learning about Outstanding Owls, Peppy Prairie Dogs, and more in these early childhood classes.
