Join us for Virtual Activities for National Zoo Lovers' Day and Easter!

Tomorrow, April 8th, is National Zoo Lovers’ Day, celebrating the 175 million people - like YOU - who visit a Zoo each year.   Thank you for your year-round dedication to the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens, especially during this unprecedented time of COVID mandated shutdown.
In celebration of National Zoo Lovers’ Day, we are hosting a virtual drawing contest on social media!   All day today and tomorrow, we are asking school age children to draw their favorite animal at the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens!  Include in your drawing one sentence describing why you love that animal, and post the picture (either by itself or with the artist holding their work) on the Zoo’s Twitter feed. Make sure to tag us @sfzoo (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=06c6f66f8e&e=7683a9aed3)  and use #LoveYourSFZoo! Five entrants will be randomly selected from all participants to receive a Friend Level Adopt-an-Animal (https://sfzoo.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=f491f44e63&e=7683a9aed3) package!

Another way to support the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens in honor of National Zoo Lovers’ Day is to help us hit our goal on our Facebook fundraising page! For those of you who celebrate, Easter is this coming Sunday, April 12th, and while we won’t be able to host our traditional children’s Egg Hunt at the Zoo and Gardens on the Playfield Lawn due to the shutdown, we hope that you will still join us in celebrating a virtual Easter at the Zoo!  Your participation again helps keep our animals healthy and well!  We will be hiding Easter Eggs across the Zoo and Gardens campus, and some of our animals will receive Easter themed treats.   A donation of any amount will enable you to receive a link on Easter Sunday to a video of animals — from our rhinos to our Komodo dragon — enjoying Easter treats.
