Story Adventures for Neuro-atypical Learners
Live 30 minute class
Ages 5-12 years

This online experience integrates art and movement in a sensory-friendly theatrical environment for children living with disabilities and their families.

Act out your favorite stories! Lead educator Amber Dickerson and students will portray characters from the story while learning about storytelling through movement, voice, and acting. This class is designed to create a dynamic arts experience for neuro-atypical learners by providing a safe, compassionate, and FUN learning environment.

The class elements will focus on consistency, predictability, and repetition—while also providing enriching interactive activities combining music and movement.
Meet the Lead Educator!
Amber Dickerson
Amber Dickerson is an actor and educator who recently relocated to the Bay Area from NYC. She holds her B.F.A in Theatre Performance and Education from Columbus State University and her B.S. in Developmental Psychology from CUNY Graduate School, where she focused on creative arts therapeutic approaches for children and adolescents. While living in NYC, Amber developed curriculum and arts programming for NYC public schools and local theatres. Since moving to the Bay Area, Amber has been working with Bay Area Children's Theatre as a teaching artist and working with the Story Explorer's program, an in-school program working with children on the autism spectrum. Most recently she has been developing educational programming for educators and schools and writing curriculum for virtual Academy Clubhouse classes. Amber specializes in creating material that links arts programs to the core curriculum standards in schools and feels very lucky that she is able to utilize her passion to serve students
through the arts.
